Example Fleet Tracking
Trackers

A tracker has gone quiet

"Quiet" means we have not heard from a tracker for longer than it should go. Most of the time the cause is where the asset is sitting, not the tracker.

  1. Check when it last reported

Find the asset on the map and read the time under its name. A battery tracker reports about once a day, so one missed day is not yet a problem. Two is worth a look.

  2. Think about where it is

A tracker needs to see the sky and reach the mobile network. It struggles:

    • inside a steel shed or a shipping container
    • in a basement or an underground car park
    • stacked under other units
    • in a valley or a remote site with no mobile coverage

If the asset is in one of those, it will usually report again by itself once it is moved.

  3. Look at its battery

Open its card and press Full details. A battery level near empty explains the silence.

  4. Call us

If it has been quiet for more than two days and none of the above fits, call 02 5550 0142 with the asset's name. A tracker that fails is ours to fix.

Take carePlease do not open, unscrew or re-stick a tracker yourself. It is sealed against water, and opening it breaks that seal.
